Mothers, Pray For Your Children
This is Mother's Day weekend, and I really ought to focus on wishing all you wonderful mothers a Happy Mother's Day,
but this past week, a conversation with a friend inspired me to write this post. As a mother and grandmother, I understand all too well the angst we experience in raising our children. And even when they are grown, our mothering responsibilities are still not over.
Being a mother is hard work.
But mothers, rest assured, God knew what He was doing when He chose us to carry on the human race. Have you ever thought what it would be like if men were mothers? I would admit, some of them do fulfill both roles as mother and father - my oldest son is a fine example - but God equipped us to be mothers. So, on this Mother's Day, I want to implore you to do one more thing - if you don't already do it.
Pray for your children.
When my children were little, I assembled them at the front door just before leaving for school, we held hands, and I would say a little prayer with them. In today's world we need God's protection over our children more than ever, and the best way to get it is through prayer. One minute of prayer before they leave the house can prevent a lifetime of sorrow.
In the Bible, there's a story of a slave named Hannah who cried out on behalf of her son after they had been thrown out of the home of his father Abraham. Read Genesis 21: 14 - 20. You can read about other wonderful mothers of the Bible in my book Women For All Seasons or give a copy to some special mother in your life. It will make her day.

Do You Like Tattoos?
I have never been a fan of tattoos. When I see them plastered on someone's arm, I think, how ugly, or how painful that must be. I also remember that somewhere in the Old Testament God warned that we must not make marks on our skin. However, when the opportunity came for me to review the Armed With Truth tattoos, I thought, what a wonderful idea. What better way to have scripture imprinted on your body in a place where you can see it everyday and memorize it.
Then I recalled another verse of scripture that says, "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. Impress them upon your children. Recite them when you stay at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them serve as a frontlet between your eyes" (Deuteronomy 6:5-8).
We may not take these words literally as the Jews did, but God wants us to "meditate [on His word] day and night" Psalm 1: 2 to remind us of his goodness to us, and these Armed With Truth tattoos certainly help us do that. They are by no means ugly, are quick and easy to apply, non-toxic, and in my case, lasted a good four days.
I chose the Fearless package which contains ten temporary scripture tattoos with application instructions. Here you see Be Steadfast from Isaiah 26: 3 - You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
I was surprised at the interest my grand children showed in these tattoos.
here's my granddaughter sporting 1 John 4: 4 - God is
greater than anything.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
And here's the most recent one I took: Focus on the Unseen
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is seen is eternal. - 2 Corinthians 4: 18
These tattoos not only help you memorize scripture, but they can be a great way of sharing the word of God with others. Like the nurse in the doctor's office who looked at mine and said, "That's cool."
By now I know you are wondering how you can get your hands on these "cool" tattoos, or get them on your hand. You can enter this giveaway by clicking on the link below.
Or to be sure you get yours, use this coupon code quildon to purchase your temporary tattoos from Armed With Truth. I know you'll enjoy your tattoos as much as I do mine. God bless you.
