Nothing Is Impossible
The words of this song popped into my mind as I woke up this morning. Some of you may be familiar with them:
Nothing is impossible when you put your trust in God,
Nothing is impossible when you're trusting in His Word
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
So put your trust in God alone
And stand upon His word,
For everything, yes everything,
EVERY THING is possible with God
You can tell I don't remember all the words, but the catchy melody stuck with me all morning as I got ready for church. The song reminded me of some seemingly impossible situations I, and others known to me, had been through. And God brought us through every one of them.
When the angel told Sarah, Abraham's wife, that she was going to have a child, she laughed. She was ninety years old! But the angel said, " Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son” (Genesis 18: 14).
And if you've read the story, you know that she did have a son the next year, exactly as the angel said.
Nothing is impossible when you put your trust in God.
Whatever you are praying about, whether it is about a family member or a national crisis - and we ought to pray about that - do not doubt. Only believe.

What To Do When You Can't Fall Asleep
Browse through any magazine, newspaper, or the internet and you are bound to come across articles about sleep and/or advertisements for sleep aids. With our busy lifestyle, people are forcing themselves to get by on less and less sleep. Could that be one reason we are so irritable and angry?
Age-related hormonal changes can also contribute to sleep deprivation, and this is why I have found that as I grow older, I have to make a conscious effort to get enough sleep. Since I hate swallowing pills, I searched for and found the perfect solutions.
The first one is PRAYER. Yes, prayer.
When you have difficulty falling asleep and the ticking of the clock seems to reverberate in your ears, PRAY.
When your mind regurgitates all the stressful incidents of the day, PRAY.
Instead of counting sheep, PRAY.
Instead of heading to the refrigerator for a glass of milk - you might end up grabbing a few cookies as well and then wonder why you are putting on weight - PRAY.
Instead of waking up your husband, who is snoring peacefully, so he could share in your misery, PRAY.
I mean seriously, PRAY! Don't lie there and think some prayers in your mind. Get up in the quiet of the night or early morning, kneel, sit up in bed or go into the living-room so as not to wake your husband and PRAY. Talk to God. Ask Him if there's anything He wants you to learn or do. Bring that nagging work, family, health problem or whatever and lay it at His feet. Maybe He needs you to pray for a loved one, or about a situation you never thought about before. Or maybe you need to forgive someone. Maybe there's something taking place in the heavenly realm, and God wants to reveal it to you. Prayer is a two-way street. It's not just you talking to God. You need to be still and have Him talk to you as well.
I have found that when I have trouble falling asleep and I pray out loud, not silently, I go back to sleep almost immediately and wake up in the morning feeling refreshed. Try it!
In my next post I will tell you what the other solution is. If you enjoyed this post, please share it with your friends and on social media and leave a comment. God bless you.

Valentine's Day Greetings
This weekend billions of dollars will be spent in purchasing cards, flowers, candy, perfume and all the usual things people use to express their love to their Valentine. And while giving these gifts, they will (hopefully) say all the right words.
I think we would all agree that we don't need a special day to show our love to that special someone, but there's nothing wrong with celebrating your love along with the rest of the world. And you should do it in a way that means something to both of you.
Often when I read the book of John where Jesus was, in effect, saying good-bye to His disciples, tears come to my eyes. Jesus, the greatest Lover the world has ever known, poured His heart out to His Father on behalf of these men. They had been his companions for a short time, but they shared a closeness deeper than that which He shared with His own family. Let's look at some of His words:
"I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours" (John 17: 9).
I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name ... (v 11)
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—
Aren't those the most beautiful and loving words coming from the lips of our Lord and Savior? He prayed that the Father would protect His disciples when He was no longer with them; that they would receive glory, that they would have unity and that in the end they would be with Him in heaven. But Jesus didn't pray just for them alone. He prayed for everyone who would receive His gospel message. What a loving Savior!
On this Valentine's Day, before you celebrate with your loved one, why not pray for and with him/her? Pour your heart out to the Lord as Jesus did for us and then you would be a true Valentine. God bless.

I like to suggest things I think you may like. If you do purchase, I will receive something from it. Thanks!
