What can you do for others?

Do you sometimes wish you could do more for others? Some people seem to have a knack for doing for others. I'm proud to say my daughter is one of those. She is always picking up someone from somewhere, taking an elderly person grocery shopping or just visiting them to see how they are doing. And she thinks nothing of it. She does it cheerfully and willingly, despite having a busy schedule of her own and a home and family to look after. Karon lives what Jesus instructed his disciples to do when he spoke about His second coming. He said the King (referring to Himself) will say to the people on his right:

"I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." (Matthew 25 : 36)

And the people will answer Him, "When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?" (v 39)

Jesus continued, "And The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’" ( v 40).

Jesus went on to teach that He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels' (41).

This is a serious thing. You can get thrown into hell for not looking after the sick, or visiting those in prison or feeding the hungry? According to Jesus, you can because it shows you do not have love.

The apostle John put it this way:  "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death" (1 John 3: 14).

He continues,  "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth" (v 18).

Is there someone you can show love to today? God bless.

Do you love to read but find that the most of the books out there contain graphic sex, violence or material that goes against your Christian beliefs? I have written a series of books called the "Egypt" series which strongly bear out the redemption story while providing all the emotion and suspense of a gripping novel. The first book Coming Out of Egypt is available here and the second book In The Wilderness is now on preorder here. Not sure if you're ready to buy? House Cleaning

When I was growing up, Saturday was always house -cleaning day at our house. We would pull the furniture away from the corners, sweep, dust, mop and polish until everything shone. The habit has stuck with me into adulthood, but as I grow older, I no longer have the interest -- nor the energy -- to do that much cleaning.

House cleaning takes a lot of time, if you are to do a good job. It also takes a lot of energy, the right products and the right tools. But the sad thing about house cleaning is that the house never stays clean. You keep repeating the same chores over and over again.

Would you be interested in a type of cleaning that is a "one-and-done" affair? It's one that is done by the Master Housekeeper Himself. His name is Jesus. He is so good that when you invite Him in to clean your house, He does it instantly and it's done for good.

He doesn't use an assortment of  products, neither does He bring the latest gadgets. All He uses is a time tested and proven cleaning agent. His precious blood which He shed on Calvary. The old hymn says,

There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Emmanuel's vein,
And sinners plunge beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.

One drop of His precious blood is all it takes to remove the deepest stain anyone can have. Lying, stealing, adultery, murder, all gone with one drop of His blood.

The other great thing about Jesus's cleansing is that it's FREE! You don't have to pay Him. If you hire a cleaner, it's going to cost you something. But Jesus knows we can never afford to pay Him, so He does it for free.

Isaiah 55: 1 says, "“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost."

If you are hiring someone to clean your house, you would try to make it look a little presentable before the person comes. But with Jesus, you don't have to do anything. Just acknowledge that you need to be cleansed and go to Him just  as you are.

There are others out there who promise cleaning, but their methods have a lot of conditions attached to them. Do this or that and you'll get to heaven. Cut your hair or don't cut your hair and you'll go to heaven. Eat this or don't eat that and a myriad of other things. All Jesus asks is that you believe that He is the Son of God and He is the only way to heaven.

So, here's what you need to remember about getting your house (yourself) cleaned.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3 : 23

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Acts 16: 31

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2 : 8 - 9

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.  Matthew 8: 3

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8: 1

Want to read about someone who was in dire need of cleansing? My book Coming Out of Egypt, Book 1 of the Egypt trilogy, is a compelling story of two sisters who were sexually abused by their father. Marva, the older girl, accidentally kills him and she and her sister embark on a roller coaster journey trying to evade the law while trying to forge a new life for themselves. Through all of this, Marva's teacher introduces her to Jesus, and she accepts Him as her Lord and Savior. However, while she hopes for love and forgiveness, she expects only judgement. What will she get? Click below to read the exciting outcome.

The Glory Of God

Today I sat on my patio and looked out at the ducks swimming in the lake, the reflection of the trees  in the water, the sun shimmering on the water like thousands of jewels and I thought, there is the glory of God. If anyone doubts the existence of God, and there are many who do, they only have to look around them to see the glory of His presence.

There are approximately 10,000 species of birds, over 40, 000 species of fish, over 1,000,000 species of animals and over 7 billion people on planet earth. Not to mention other planets and hundreds of billions of galaxies. No one knows the exact number. Man, with all the technology at his command and with all the space exploration he has done, has only seen a fraction of the universe. Who created it all? Who makes the sun to shine everyday, the rain to fall, the seasons to change according to their designated times?

As God said to Job, "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding" (Job 38 : 4). For the next four chapters God goes on to shoot Job with questions that not even the most brilliant scientists of our times can ever answer. Until in chapter 42, Job caves in. "Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know... I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You" (v 3 - 5).

That's how God reveals Himself to us - through His glory. Someone asked me, "Where is heaven? Astronauts have gone into outer space and they have yet to find heaven." I have no idea where heaven is, but I know how to get there. By accepting His Son Jesus Christ as my Savior, I will one day get there. And you can too. So the next time you stop to admire a bird, a pretty flower or a scenic landscape, remember the glory of God. He created all of that for us to enjoy. But He has something even more spectacular, that words cannot describe, waiting for us in heaven. Do you want to see it? Accept Jesus Christ today. Enjoy the video below as you bask in His presence.
